Day-by-Day Programme
Day 1
Amman Airport – Amman
Arrival at Amman International (Queen Alia) Airport. Meet and transfer to your hotel in Amman for check-in and overnight.
Day 2
Jabbok River – Jerash – Umm Qais
Breakfast, then head north from Amman. First stop is the Jabbok River, where we recall the story of Jacob wrestling with the angel.
Drive to Jerash, with more than 6,500 years of continuous occupation and a place among the ten Roman cities of the Decapolis.
Continue north to Byzantine Umm Qais — ancient Gadara — where Christ performed the Miracle of the Gadarene Swine. From its black-basalt ruins, a breathtaking hilltop overlooks Lake Tiberias (the Sea of Galilee). Return to Amman for overnight.
Day 3
Salt – Bethany – Dead Sea – Amman City Tour
After breakfast, visit the Anglican School for the Deaf in Salt, with time to meet staff and pupils and learn about its work.
Descend into the valley to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the site of John the Baptist's settlement on the east bank of the Jordan, known for almost two millennia as the place where Jesus was baptised (John 10:40).
Continue to the Dead Sea for a float in its therapeutic waters, then return to Amman (Biblical Philadelphia) for a brief visit to the Citadel and Archaeological Museum, a view of the theatre, a downtown walk with a taste of falafel, and a panoramic drive. Overnight in Amman.
Day 4
Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Karak – Petra
After breakfast, drive to Madaba for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and the famous 6th-century Mosaic Map. Continue to Mount Nebo, the memorial of Moses, with views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the River Jordan.
Drive on to Karak and its famous Crusader fortress, then proceed to your hotel in Petra for check-in and overnight.
Day 5
Petra
Breakfast, then a full day exploring Petra — the world wonder carved into the rock by the Nabateans over 2,000 years ago. Enter through the kilometre-long Siq to reach Al-Khazneh (the Treasury) and continue deeper into the ancient city. Return to your hotel for overnight.
Day 6
Petra – Wadi Rum – Aqaba
Breakfast, then transfer to Wadi Rum, the timeless 'Valley of the Moon' woven into the history of the Arab Revolt. Enjoy a roughly two-hour Bedouin jeep tour, then continue to Aqaba for check-in and overnight.
Day 7
Aqaba
Breakfast, then a relaxing day by the Red Sea — swim, take a glass-bottom boat to the coral reefs, or simply sunbathe. Aqaba is a microcosm of the best of Jordan: a fascinating history, outstanding sites, fine hotels and warm, welcoming people. Overnight in Aqaba.
Day 8
Aqaba – Amman QAIA Airport
Breakfast, then transfer from Aqaba to Amman's Queen Alia International Airport for departure.
